Functioning :

It support the coils during unwinding.

The design with double mandrel let the operator load the next coil during normal line

operation and reduce the time losses during production.

Item 02 Strip joint bench;

A complete and working unit for the welding of strip head coming from the un-coiler with the

strip tail coming from the horizontal spiral accumulator.

Strip Cutting

It is transversally performed, with regards to the strip movement, by means of a blade

hydraulically commanded by the operator.

Description

Levelling of the strip: after butting and welding it is necessary a levelling operation to

The machine is composed by two independent spindles with strip guiding wheels mounted on

a central column. All equipment can rotate on his vertical axe.

Functioning of the machine:

The machine can accumulate the strip on one side while the other side is down loading the

already accumulated strip to feed the tube mill.

When one side has finished the line must be stopped, the accumulator rotate on his vertical

axe and then re-start the production

Machine description

The machine is composed of a strong base made by welded steel plates, on the top part

are placed the rails on which the cutting trolley runs by ball bearings.

The trolley is composed of a steel frame on which is placed the cutting system, that consist

by a tilting arm holding the spindle supported by large rolls bearings.

The spindle revolution is controlled by an A.C. motor through toothed belt and pulleys.

The cut stroke of the tilting arm is assured by a hydraulic cylinder controlled by a servo

valve, that through the electronic system with a proper software optimizes the cut speed

and stroke, depending from the pipe diameter and thickness.

The cut system is completed by a double adjustable vice, controlled by hydraulic cylinders,

able to receive the different type of jaws for the various pipes dimension.

The motion control of the carriage is obtained by a D.C. motor connected to the pinion by a

self aligning coupling and gear box, a disc brake provide the motion stop in case of

emergency.

On the two ends of the base are placed the shock absorber able to stop the trolley in case

loss of power or emergency, while a locking system hold the trolley in idle position with the

pinion disengaged from the rack to avoid their damage.

Item 06 Run Out Table

Length : 25 m.

It is composed of a roller table “V” shaped, and it’s able to run out the pipe on both side.

The roller are driven by electric motor with inverter and a series of tilting arms provides the

offloading of the pipe into a collecting system.

Item 09 Hydraulic equipment

The hydraulic plant is composed of a main power unit, connecting pipes electro valves and

actuators.

The main power unit consist of the motor with pump, pressure control valve and relieve

valve, all components assembled on the oil tank. It is completed by a oil-air heat

exchanger, oil level and temperature controls.

Electro valves are assembled near the various actuators, like cylinders or motors.
